Smith Brandenburg, LTD.: Ms. Dansby has been of counsel with Smith Brandenburg Ltd since 2013 and focuses her practice on prosecution of design, biotechnology, medical and mechanical patents. She uses a multifaceted approach to the intellectual capital of both individuals and corporations, prosecuting both domestic, international and Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) patent applications and advising clients on strategies to leverage their intellectual property.

Shawn M. Dansby, Attorney at Law, LLC
Prior to working with Smith Brandenburg Ltd. Ms. Dansby was an associate attorney with private firms in Cincinnati and in a solo legal practice with focus in the areas of business and estate planning. She conducted litigation in various areas including business litigation as well as negotiating agreements between parties as well as engineering and subcontractor agreements.
Additional Professional Experience:
Adjunct Instructor, University of Cincinnati:
Adjunct instructor in classes relating to software and procedures used in the modern law office, legal research and writing, as well as the rules and regulations associated with the practice of law and classes in computer technology and applications.
Laboratory Research Assistant, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine:
Performed clinical trials HIV research, including lymphocyte isolation, Western Blot, antibody testing, PCR testing and reference lab hazardous biological specimen shipping.
Education: B.A. in Biology and A.A. in History from Thomas More College and J.D. degree from the University of Toledo College of Law. Licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the courts of the State of Ohio, and in the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio.
